Custom Hanging lampshades for a new home in Chennai

It was a very quiet evening at the studio, not in terms of the noise levels, which we have in abundance, but in terms of action when a couple walked in equipped with all details which they picked from our website.

It was their new home and they were looking for 2 nice pendants for their living room, 2 for their bed room and 2 wall fixtures.

They were already sold out on the dual layer hanging lampshades (for their living room) that have always been popular with home owners and designers alike. It was only the choice of colors that we have a nice discussion on. They were divided between going for same colors for both layers against using different colors. The idea of using different colors (which came from the customers) was really exciting as it was something that we had not experimented with before. After lot of deliberation, we decided to go with dark beige for the inner layer and grey (to match with the feature wall of the living room) for the outer layer. We at Woodooz Home Decor were waiting with bated breath until we received these images below, And it sure was quite a stunner.

Hanging Lampshades for living room

For the bedroom, they wanted 2 shades, but didn’t want the regular drum or the empire shades. The tabla shade was something we recommended and they did think twice before they moved on to choosing the fabric. And cream Raw Silk it was. 

We wanted to talk a little bit about Pure Raw Silk here. While it is pricey, we would like to stress on the fact that it creates the most beautiful effect when lit. The random texture on its surface lights up creating a pretty feel to the ambiance. And when customers insist on using raw silk, we kinda have an idea about what they really want to do with the space. Gladly, this came out much better than we expected it to.

The choice of shades for the wall fixtures was straight forward. We had to pick the color that will match with their living room pendant shade and it was the dark beige. It was for the first time that we were working with raw silk for the wall shade and the tabla lampshade and I have to tell you that we would probably be recommending more of it to our customers.
